Practicing

8/29/2022

I have quite a few things on the go right now, not the least of which is preparing for Baron and Naomi's wedding. It's taking almost as long as a real one, and there's still plenty to do.

In the meantime my dining room table is standing in for the cathedral.  I bought a huge piece of fabric at Value Village which I thought would make a good 'cathedral floor'.  Jan made two wooden partitions behind which the guests will sit.  Any dolls that are ready, get put into place so I can see how they will eventually look.
Picture
Lawrence and Baron have been best friends since they were boys, but as a King, Lawrence can't stand in as Baron's Best Man. So Naomi, who is an orphan, asked him if he'd walk her down the aisle.  He was honoured, and gladly accepted, and will do so without any of his royal accoutrements; no robes, no crown, nothing to distract from the bride on her special day....
Picture
All the flower girls are part of the extended royal family, and daughters of Baron's friends. Two of them are Royal Princesses. Ringo, who is also dressed in blue, will be Ring Bearer.

I cut a new, longer veil for Naomi, so Paige and Faye could hold it.

It's looking very impressive, even if I do say so myself. I just hope the photos of the actual ceremony turn out as good as I imagine. But before that, there's still lots to do to get ready.

I need to finish some of the details of the Bishop's outfit, make circles out of the flooring fabric  to cover the guy's stands, make the carpet for the steps up to the alter, and dress any guests who aren't wearing appropriate 'period' costumes.  There will be a lot of guests, but I have to divide them by aesthetic.  All the Fashion sized ones will be together on one side, while all the JIDs and other MSDs will be together on the other side. Then there's still the flowers, and wedding decorations.  And the reception.  Like I said, almost as much work as a real wedding!!

It is going to be an amazing wedding! Just practicing, all the characters create an impressive scene. Everything looks so real.

I think this wedding is going to be even more work than a real one. In a real wedding, the participants have to get themselves dressed, here you have to do it for them :o)

Thanks. I hope so.

Most of the dolls are going in their default costumes, and just a few need redressing. But at least the participants will be cooperative. No bridezilla or MIL issues. They will all just stand(or sit) where I put them. It would be nice though if I could get them to turn their heads and look the direction I want without having to adjust every single one.

Exciting like a real wedding, even for us „guests“.

Yes, I don't normally show behind the scene photos beforehand, but I was excited about how beautiful they looked.

It all looks elegant. This is a kind of "ahead of the scenes" photo shoot and I am loving it!

I will be sure to go to the bakery and get a cupcake so I can "attend" the wedding also (smile).

Will there by music? I know we won't be able to hear it but I am wondering if you imagined what music would be playing. "Here Comes The Bride" doesn't seem to fit this magical occasion.

I don't usually show the behind the scene photos beforehand, but I was too excited about how great everything was starting to look.

I'm not sure when the wedding will actually take place. I still need to secure a venue. But I'm not ready anyways.

There will not be music. You can imagine something yourself when the time comes. Something suitably medieval.

It looks amazing. I love the way you created an aisle and the longer veil is perfect.

There will be guests on either side of the aisle, but my table isn't wide enough to accommodate them right now.

I love the longer veil.

Absolutely beautiful!

Oh wow, this set is amazing. Every bride would love you as her wedding planner.

I can't wait to see the photos.

Thanks, but this isn't the set. It's just the pieces and dolls that are done standing on my dining room table. The actual set will be much bigger and hopefully much more magnificent, and with lots of people.
