Pirate Treasure

Captain Hook had a acquired a map to a treasure more valuable than gold, and had two of the boys row him ashore to retrieve it....
Picture
There wasn't much left of the men who had been guarding the treasure, and there was no way to know just how many chests lay buried on the beach, so Coco kept on digging....
Picture
..while Efreet loaded up the long boats....

I've enjoyed all your toilet paper related stories, but this is the funniest one yet! The Captain's hook is perfect for spearing and holding onto a roll of this precious commodity. But will there be enough room in the rowboats for the treasure, Hook and the two boys? Or will the dastardly Hook be compelled to leave one of the boys behind?

Thanks.

I suspect several trips out to the ship will be in order, so they will all make it back. Plus Hook can't afford to lose any of his crew, seeing I can only provide him with these two boys right now.

I have had this idea for a long time, but had no way to get to the beach, so finally got up the courage to ask our son to take me yesterday. I don't normally like taking doll photos with other people around, - or in bright midday sun - so it was a bit stressful and everything didn't end up exactly as I had planned (forgot to put in the parrots) but it turned out okay for the most part, and I figure I might as well get used to doing it this way until whenever Jan can drive again.

I love this posting! I just made a list for a friend who is going to pick up a few things for me when he goes grocery shopping tonight and toilet paper was the first item. Then I went to your blog and saw this. I fell out laughing.

I am glad you were able to get out to the beach. I think that the pictures turned out nicely.

So am I, as this scene would not have worked anywhere else.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

It's a good thing most of it is packaged... wouldn't want it to get wet if the sea gets choppy on their way back to the ship!

I suspect that they will put all the unpackaged rolls into one of the chests to keep it dry.

OMG Martha, this had me laughing out loud! And that final shot with the tp on Hook's hook is hilarious!! Thank you for the belly laugh!

I think these photos turned out great and especially consider the full sun. I have had no luck whatsoever with full sun photos. Most of my dolls have light skin and that makes it harder, at least for me.

Thanks. I thought it was pretty funny myself.

One of the biggest problems with overhead bright sun is when the dolls are wearing hats and their faces are in deep shadow. It's much better to take photos in sun first thing in the morning, or last thing in the evening, but my son comes in the middle of the day, so there's no choice.

Thankfully my camera takes photos in RAW, so I can process them in Photoshop afterwards. I did take some with my flash to light up under their hats, and other photos without, but they all needed some work with 'layers' to bring out the faces in shadow.
