Pink Party Dresses

The next two Holiday dresses are finished, and Miki and Layla wanted to model them.....

I'm loving these jewel tone taffetas with the black velvet. Theses magenta pink ones are a little different because I had wine and gold lace which I wanted to incorporate. Next will be the purple ones, and then I'm thinking of making a larger size party dress for Nelly out of the leftovers of each colour. I'll have to come up with a different treatment for the bottom of the skirt however, since I've already used both decorative self-edges.

It's been almost a year since I ordered any new dolls - Ringo was the last. I've been waiting all year to see what Iplehouse was going to come up with for their annual Christmas Event. Well they've released a brand new BID for Christmas, and she's so cute, I couldn't resist. Her name is Bono, and I think she has quite a family resemblance to my Lonnie. I think she's beautiful, so I've ordered her.

I decided to get her in normal skin, just like my Lonnie, and as much as I love her face up, I've ordered her blank. With the Christmas Event special discounts and all the points I've collected all year from their photo contests, I also ordered Coco - a little boy in real skin. Also blank.

I also ordered some more tiny jeans for the little boys. After all, I hate sewing pants.
Now the wait begins! Hopefully it won't take too long. Some time in January maybe?

The pink dresses are beautiful and their black velvet bodices are a lovely contrast!

Bono is so cute!!! I couldn't resist either and ordered her last night in peach gold skin. I hope she comes soon! Your family of little boys is growing :o)

I thought I'd jump right in and order at the very beginning of their Christmas Event, instead of waiting until the doll shows up in Basic some time next year. Waiting is hard enough!

Yes, three little boys should be lots of fun!

I like the pink dresses too. They look grate with the lace.

Congreatulations to your cute new dolls. Bono really looks like Lonnie's little sister. I hope, the'll arrive quickly.

I'd love if they'd come by the end of the year - or even sooner - but I doubt there's much chance.

I'm hoping to have my Bono painted just like my Lonnie.

I just love that Miki wants to wear her pretty party dress with big boots! I really do like the jewel colours you are suing for the party frocks.
And I really hope that Nelly gets her party dress too!

And congratulations about the new Iple dolls, I hope you don't have to wait too long for them to come home.

Poor Miki was the last to get her dress, and by then I'd run out of pretty black shoes - so she just kept on her boots. Maybe she'll just have to switch to a purple dress once they are finished, since I do have one pair of purple shoes.

I'm also hoping it doesn't take too long, but IH dolls have been gaining in popularity, and last time I ordered a doll from them it took 2 1/2 months. But that isn't bad compared to some other shops (like Jpop) where you can expect to wait 7 or 8 months.

I have been waiting 9 months now for my KW doll from Jpop........and she still isn't here!
I will only buy KW on the secondary market if I feel the urge to add more, as I will never take part in a pre-order again.

I know. It's totally turned me off of ordering from them as well. But secondary market prices are beyond ridiculous - not that the dolls weren't expensive enough to start with. That being said, I did put in a preorder for Whispering Grass Raccoon, because I really do like him, and there's no other way to get him. I just need to try not think about it. "Some ...... day ..... my doll ..... will come..." Just hope I'm still around to enjoy it!

Coco is adorable! I love the little tongue.

The dresses are beautiful as well.

I wish I had your skill and patience for sewing. I am lucky to get basic clothing made (have a couple of dolls on order now and am rushing to make sure one of them--due in the next week--has something to wear).

Thanks! I think Coco has a sweet, happy little face.

Sewing is a skill you can get better at - it just takes practice. LOL I should listen to my own advice. I don't like sewing boy clothes, esp pants, but if it's true "practice makes perfect" then by the time my three little boys have complete wardrobes, I shouldn't feel intimidated by boys clothes anymore. At least that's the theory.
