Whenever we go out east, we have to stop at Peggy's Cove, one of our very favourite spots in the Maritimes. It's a bit of a side trip on the way to the Newfoundland ferry, but always worth it. The landscape there is like a little sneak peak at what lies ahead in Newfoundland... The village is so picturesque that it has become a major tourist attraction... The plan had been to take some doll photos there, but it was very hot, and ever so crowded, with a dozen tour buses with cruise ship passengers having come for lunch... So we left, and moved on....

I've always wanted to visit Peggy's Cove but never seem to find myself in the area. Thanks to your wonderful photos I've enjoyed a brief visit. Sure wish you could have found a way to pose the dolls. The first six photos make it look like there was no one around. In fact, at first I thought the colorful chairs were doll size.

I always try take photos with as few people in them as possible. Most of the hundreds of cruise ship passengers were in the restaurant on the hill near the lighthouse having lunch, and at the lighthouse.

I love the colorful photos. I love lighthouses.

Those 'crates' are lobster traps. Each one has a long rope attached to a float. Fishermen roll the rope up and store it inside the trap along with the float until they are ready to drop the trap into the ocean (with some bait inside) Comments are closed.
