Took a few photos of Kassia in her new wig today as well. I just don't know what it is about this doll - she's just not coming through with the look I had imagined for her. In real, up close, she looks pretty enough, but in all her photos she looks so depressed. I don't know if it's the lighter skintone, her faceup, or her costume and wig selections, or her face sculpt. Lonnie is proving a challenge too. I've never had this with a doll before, so it's rather unsettling.
Took a few more photos and made a New Years Party album - after starting a brand new Favourite Photos 2013 page. In fact, there's a bunch of new pages needing making now that it's a new year, but they can wait until there's actually something to put on them. We are slowly clearing out all the holiday decorations, so that's the end of the Holiday Photos for another year. Because of the flu, I haven't done much of anything this week, other than take a few photos, but hopefully things will get better this coming week.

Maybe it is the position of her eyes? Try moving them to a side eye it might make her look less depressed. I don't know to be honest she's pretty but she does look miserable.

she has a very sad mouth, but I think it's her eyes that make her really sad. She looks likes she's been crying and they're all red. THe corners of her eyes also droop down which may be causing it?

I think I may just have chosen unwisely, and should just sell her. Maybe get Leona instead - she has a narrower face more like my other dolls, and she has a tiny hint of a smile. I'll think about it some more. No point in rushing into anything right now.

Her problem is probably a combo of eye alignment and faceup. Eyes tilted slightly down and away from each other like hers are give the impression of someone looking into a distance, distracted or bored. Her brows relative to her bone structure, if she had real bones, would indicate that she is arching them in part of an expression usually indicating disdain: arched brows, eyes looking downward. If she had a faceup with brows more relaxed and on the brow ridge, and her eyes were up and focused on the viewer, she'd probably look a lot less disapproving and disdainful. Comments are closed.
