Paper Chains

So Naomi sat down at the table to help finish the paper chains....
Picture
"I always loved making these when I was little..."
Picture
The children hung on her every word....
Picture
Picture
"My grandmother first taught me how to make them."
Picture
"I've always enjoyed making them as well. Sometimes I think we should just save them from year to year, but where's the fun in that?"
Picture
Then Ringo wanted to know.....
Picture
"Did you really make these candy canes?"
Picture
Picture
"Yes, I did...."
Picture
"But how?  Mom always orders ours from the Bake Shop in the village. I really love them, but they only make them at Christmas."
Picture
'Well, I have a special book full of recipes, and it has instructions on how to make them."
Picture
"The cookie recipes are in there too...along with lots of other things Baron and I enjoy."
Picture
"So...then....you could make them any time you wanted, and not just now at Christmas...."

Ringo steals the show today. That last photo could be captioned hint, hint, hint :o)
I'm thinking the royal family could be in for a few new surprises from Naomi's recipe book.

I love how the children refer to the Queen as "Mom".

Ringo always steals the show. He can't help himself.

Yes, I'm sure Naomi's cookbook has lots of things in it that will come as a surprise to people not used to 'modern food'.

Of course they call their parents 'Mom' and 'Dad'. Doesn't matter if they are royalty. In private they are just like any other family.

It's wonderful that the children are working on an activity that "Auntie" Naomi remembers doing as a child. I am sure she can teach them a ton of fun activities and they can teach her about the ones from their time.

Wonderful story. And it brought back memories from my childhood days. We made those paper chains too. Happy New Year!
