I've washed and painted the elf dress, and am hoping it dries the right colours. The dress itself looks dark because it's wet, and the painted edges look light green right now, but will dry darker. The two small curved pieces are the 'short sleeves' of the dress, but will be sewn into the jacket armholes. It would have been too difficult to make those short little 'sleeves' fit through the jacket sleeve - they'd only end up all bunched up - so I'm sewing them into the jacket, so the long sleeves of the dress will slip right through with no fuss.

You know, I just saw a section of crinkle gauze at my local Joann's but I didn't think I needed any. I believe I'll pick some up next time I'm in town!

At first sight i thought, it is a sunflower. :-) The dress looks supercute. I'm very excited to see it on a doll. Thank you for the tip with the sleeves. It is very interesting to see, how you build these gorgeous dresses.

It does look like a sunflower! It's interesting how the pale olive green looks almost golden when wet, and in that lighting. The painted edge ended up being too light, so I had to redo it with a darker green.

This is beautiful. Reminds me of VanGoh's "sunflowers."
