The sky became overcast and the wind picked up as they headed out along the shore of the lake.... "At least this is easier going than through the forest..." "Yes, or over the mountain passes." "We should reach our next camp by nightfall." "I just hope it doesn't start to rain..." But their luck held out, it didn't rain, and they finally arrived at their next camp just as the sun went down... Copyright © 2022 Martha Boers

This is a long journey for them.

Yes, it is. Even though Phairby and the dragons can fly (and carry one person each) that would still leave two others behind. So they all just go on foot, and with such short legs it does take a while to get anywhere.

I am glad it didn't rain. The last photo is so sweet. I always think that the sunset is magical.

The sky did get really dark that afternoon, and there were storms all around us, and especially to the south, but we didn't get any rain until after midnight.

They are so small and their trip is so long and challenging, it is good that they have two dragons along for protection. It's also a good thing the dragons can fly, just in case they need to scout the terrain ahead for dangers.
