One day as Owen and Kyle came up over a ridge...

.. they came across the Griffin and his friends, who invited the two knights to join them for some dinner.

"So, you two must be the new guys?"

"Yes we are. We've been commissioned by the King to continue with the Winter Patrol."

"It's quite an honour for us to be sent to up here, to finish what Sir Rex and Sir Baron had started."

"It was terrible what happened to them, especially to Sir Baron..."

"I know. I was there!"

"Those criminals shot him so many times, that he fell off his horse..."

"The snow was red with his blood."

"I hurried to go for help.."

"...but I honestly didn't think he was going to make it..."

"I heard that he's doing much better now, and is expected to fully recover."

"Yes, he is. Thankfully."

"And those mercenary criminals got what was coming to them." he continued. "Last week, Commander Jude and his men ambushed their hideout..."

"...the battle only lasted a few minutes..."

"..and then his men took the survivors away in chains, and burned the encampment."

"The King's Special Forces sure means business!" commented his friend. "They always get the job done."

"Well good riddance, is what I say!" added Fenwick.

"Those criminals got what they deserved!"added the Griffin.

"And now everything is safe up here again."

Very realistic winter photos. I especially love the Griffin. And that's good news that Jude and Co. dealt so swiftly with the mercenaries.

Thanks. It helps when there's been a nice snowfall to take the photos in. Although I did have to take a second set a month later (after another similar snowfall) in order to get some different angles for their conversation.

Yes, outlaws need to be dealt with swiftly.

It was good to learn how Jude and his special forces team had dealt with the mercenaries.

I love how your fantasy characters interact with the regular folks. It's cool the way these fierce looking creatures act and talk like everyday people. A roasted drumstick shared over a campfire makes them seem pretty normal themselves.

The winter scenes are beautiful and must have been difficult to photograph at the doll's eye level!

I thought this was the best way to tie up that part of the story.

I like doing the unexpected, by using my old characters. It is a fantasy world after all.

The photos for this post were not difficult since they were done in our upper garden, so they are elevated to start with. The only thing challenging was trying to set up the scene again more than a month later because I'd only shot them talking to the Griffin the first time, and I needed them talking to Fenwick.
