Of Cookies, Candy Canes, and Horses

As the adults were getting acquainted, the children opened the gift from Naomi....

It was full of cookies and candy canes, that Naomi had made for them...

"Wow! These look delicious!"

"Look Mom!"

"Candy canes!"

"...and cookies!"

Ringo turned to Naomi....."Did you make these for us?"

"Yes, I did. I remembered how much I loved candy canes and Christmas cookies when I was your age, and hoped you would like them too.."

"These are my very favourite!"

But Lawrence seemed a bit preoccupied..

"Just before you arrived, I was about to go down to the stables, and check on the new foal that was born last night, to see how it's doing. Maybe you'd like to come?"

Baron turned to Naomi....

"I realize we just got here, and I hate to leave you here on your own, but I'd really like to go check on the new foal...."

Monica realized that Baron had unintentionally put Naomi in an awkward position. She had just a arrived, and didn't really know anyone yet, but she also couldn't very well say 'no'.

"You two go ahead...."

"The children and I will keep Naomi company..."

"...and we can get to know each other better."

Monica is both perceptive and gracious; the ideal Queen.

Candy canes and Christmas cookies...it's fun how you blend the modern with the past so easily. It will be interesting to see the reactions if Naomi ever makes them a pizza!

I think Monica is the most beautiful doll I have ever seen. She is a perfect queen and so well matched with Lawrence.

Thank you. I had loved Monica for some time before I actually got her. She is the only one of RaccoonDolls' dolls that I like. My version is 'Temptation Monica', with the darker, dramatic makeup, but she's also gorgeous in the other resin colours and makeup options.

Other doll companies have comparable ladies, who would also make a good Queen, but I wasn't interested in getting any of those to replace her. She pairs so well with Lawrence, and is here to stay.

Naomi will have to learn to navigate her new world. This is a good starting point.

I wonder if it is easier going from the present to the past, as Naomi did, or going from the past to the present, as Baron did.

I think it would be easier going back, since one would already be familiar with the history, but going forward would seem very confusing and overwhelming, and be much more challenging to fit in.
