Today I'm still dealing with cleaning stuff up from our trip. The dolls are unpacked, but all the props and extra clothes I brought along need to be put back where they belong. Yesterday I sorted out everything I'd purchased. I managed to restrain myself in the fabric stores, just limiting myself to some blue brocade for a Medieval gown, and some interesting prints for a baby book I promised to make. That and lots of tiny buttons. It was interesting in that I first found some at a Michaels in St. Augustine, and there the packages of buttons were $3.99. I chose several packages as they were still a lot less than here at home. Then at a JoAnn's in Jacksonville, they had the packages of tiny buttons for $2.99. So I got some more. Then we later found some more at a WalMart for just $1.99 and I really stocked up. So by then I had a lot of buttons, and it took me quite awhile yesterday to open all the packages and sort them out.
Thought I'd try something a little different, and post some of my 'sight-seeing' photo along with the doll photos from each location we visited. The first place we went to was New Orleans. We had arrived at the Gulf of Mexico, but it was cold with rain in the forecast for the following two days, and that's no weather for visiting the wonderful white sand beaches of Florida's Panhandle. So we thought we'd delay our visit to the beaches, and go check out New Orleans, as we'd never been there before. We found a parking space down by the waterfront and went to explore the French Quarter. Lonnie and Byuri came along. It was St. Patrick's Day, and many people were decked out in green. But with it being the very first place we visited, and it being very crowded, I felt very self-conscious taking my dolls out for photos. Plus it was cold and very windy, and I was still getting over my cold bug, and wasn't feeling that well. As a result there aren't many photos with Byuri and Lonnie. However looking back, realizing New Orleans was already filled with all manner of unusual characters, so I doubt my dolls would have gotten any attention at all. So, maybe next time I'll be bolder. I'd definitely go there again. New Orleans is a fascinating city and well worth visiting.

New Orleans is definitely a one-of-a-kind place! I wish I'd taken more photos with my dolls, but I really wasn't feeling very well that day. I'd definitely go there again.
