The wig I tried on Owen yesterday now belongs to Leona, my new "modern girl". Leona came with a denim pants-suit, and although it's not something I'd normally have purchased myself, it's nice she has something to wear, as her turn for a costume is still a very long ways off. So, now being the only "contemporary" girl among the other JIDs, she decided to borrow Maya's coat and his brand new scarf, and head out into the snow....

It's a look I was never interested in before......but.......you just watch.....eventually everyone will need contemporary clothes. Then they can actually go with my smaller dolls.

Your Leona is a precious modern girl. I am really amused, you sew wonderfull and sophisticated clothes for your girls and you say that modern clothes are hard to sew ? Can't understand that. Why ? Because you don't like them ?

With historical and fantasy costumes it's just about an overall look, and most people have never seen anything like them for real, so I can get away with all kinds of stuff. But everyone knows what modern clothes look like, so they have to be perfect. Which means snug form-fitting clothes like jeans and T-shirts. Tiny zippers, and pockets with perfect top-stitching. Give me an elaborate fantasy gown any day!! Comments are closed.
