My Garden

I thought I'd go out and take some photos of my garden - just in case. All morning the radio has been warning about the terrible thunderstorms expected today, overnight and tomorrow. And of course, it's on the Anniversary of when my garden was destroyed by hail on this exact same date in 2008, and again in 2009. They've been warning of severe rain and wind, hail and possible tornados, so I figured I better just go out and take some "before" photos just in case.....

Here's the back patio where I take most of my doll photos these days, since all the plants are now way too big scale-wise for my dolls. You might recognize the step where the violet photos were taken earlier this spring, and the rocks which I've used on many occasions. The backyard is cut into a hill, with a rock wall supporting the upper garden, where I take all my fall and winter photos.....

The walkway between the kitchen and the patio...

The sidewalk on the north side of the house....

After taking the photos, I manhandled every pot I could move, onto the porch, where they'll
all stay until the severe weather threat is over.  I'm just hoping that after the pots of plants
get put back, that my garden still looks exactly the same as these photos.

Lovely. You have a beautiful garden. Hopefully the storm will hold off its destruction.

We had a huge storm go through for the last hour and a half, but there wasn't any hail here, so we are good so far.

Oh what a beautiful, beautiful garden....high maintenance too by the look of it. I so hope you have protected as much as you can from the storms.
I love to see gardens.

It's not too bad. Most of the garden is full of shade perennials, and we have annuals in pots for colour. So the only real work is cutting off any dead flowers, and cutting everything down in fall.

Jan brought the last pots I couldn't carry, onto the porch. The only one left is the big cement urn which can't be moved.

I've decided to bring my flowering pots in the garage as well, since they're talking about really bad weather still to come. I'm even getting my sleeping bag down so I can cover my car's windshield should we have hail.

Good idea!

That was one crazy long storm we just had! Thankfully no hail (yet). Tomorrow we are in for more of the same.

Such a pretty garden! You are as talented with plants and flowers as you are with needle and thread. Hope there's no damage.

Such a beautiful garden ! I do hope it won't be destroyed by hail, it would be a real pity !

Oh my! Your garden is like a magic fairyland! I love it! It's as wonderful and artful as your beautiful doll creations. We had unprecedented, ridiculously cold weather that destroyed many well developed plants. So we had a lot of work to do this year!

Anyway, your yard is beautiful!!!!
