More Pictures of Owen

I thought I'd try Kyle's outfit on Owen, and try some more wigs, especially a Monique JoJo which
I had originally bought for Kyle before settling on a handmade human hair one for him.

I like the colour, but think he's definitely not a "bangs" kind of guy. I do think he
would make a great LOTR kind of character. And now a second photo, with a hat.

It's always such a struggle to find the right look for a guy. No one makes wigs with a nice masculine hair-line in front, and making one from scratch is very difficult. It wouldn't be so hard if the hair could be glued right on the head, but it can't.

I think I'll take a short break from my Queen's dress and make Owen some pants and a shirt. Maybe take apart Layla's blonde wig so I can make Owen one out of it instead. Then back to figuringout how to make the Queen's underskirt.

He actually kind of reminds me of Faramir, especially with the hair in combination with the outfit!

I think I seriously need to look through my "Making of LOTR" books for a nice costume design for him. There's some really great costume sketches in them that were rejected for the films, so wouldn't be recognizable with specific characters.

He reminds me of Faramir too! He has the look of the poet in his face as well as that of the warrior.

But I 'hear' your frustration at the lack of decent (and easy to buy) male wigs!
Good luck taking apart Layla's wig, but she does have another wig to wear I hope!

He definitely has plenty of possibilities. The worst part about making Owen a wig out of Layla's is coming up with a decent pattern with a male hairline in front, as I'd prefer a longish hairstyle that's combed back - like Chris Hemsworth's Thor. Which means the front edge has to be perfect.

I have several other wigs Layla could wear, but the thin blonde one was her "default look". I can always order some new blonde Tibetan lambskin and make her a new wig. Or look through my mohair locks to see if there's any nice blondes in there.

I agree, the bangs are a little "girlie"
Is there a way you could make a bald cap and then you could glue the hair on to it?
Maybe you need to think of a boy's hair style instead of a man's

Especially with straight bangs. The wig he has on would be better if there was a slight wave to it. But with doll wigs it's either straight hair or huge curls.

I want him to look more mature like a young man, and not a boy. The best bet will probably be to design a well-fitting pattern and make it up of plain leather first to check for fit. Then make it out of Tibetan lambskin. I'll probably make my standard mohair wig too, and see how they look. With a hat either will look good, but the real challenge is to have a wig that looks good without a hat.

good luck. It could be a challenge to get just the right one. Buy hey, you may have left over wigs that others can have. :-)
