I took advantage of the Iplehouse Holiday Event one more time last week, and ordered two new dolls; a light brown JID Benny, to be the adult to my Light Brown KID Angela, and BIDs Erzulie and Efreet; and I finally gave in and ordered an FID guy. I hummed and hawed about those super wide shoulders, and would rather have had a guy with a slimmer physique, but Iplehouse may never make one, so I'll see what I can do with him. I ordered Lawrence in Special Real Skin, and there are no company photos of him in that resin colour, and I didn't care for the way any of the FID versions were presented, so here's the EID Lawrence in light brown..... I had been thinking that I would like to make my Miho some contemporary evening gowns, which meant Lawrence would need somthing appropriate to accompany her. Which meant a nice suit. But I really, really don't want to make one. So Jan insisted I order the Tuxedo and black shoes for him.

I am VERY glad to hear that you really really don't want to make a suit/tuxedo. When I bought dolls for my dollhouse I bought a suit for the man even though I was going to make clothes for the women. I've felt bad ever since. But if you don't want to make one, I'm going to assume they ARE horrible to make and not that I'm too lazy.

I personally find fitted contemporary clothes the hardest to make, since everyone knows exactly what they look like, so they have to be perfect. I'd much rather deal with historical and fantasy costumes, since there's a bit of leeway as to accuracy and fit.

Congratulations! And how kind of Jan to insist on you getting that tuxedo for him too.

No, he's coming blank. I learned my lesson with regards to IH company face ups. I don't think they clean the dolls very well (if at all) and any residual mold release just makes the paint flake right off. Don't get me wrong, I love many of their face ups, but I just don't want to take the chance again. Plus I like Charie's OOAK face ups. Comments are closed.
