I love the ruins! It always helps my mind to transport the dolls to some place in time.

I especially like the last photo. She looks like she is on the castle grounds going for a stroll.

I like those last photos too, and am thinking that I need to take some more dolls there for photos in that spot. Preferably on a hazy or cloudy day. Its as really hard dealing with the sunshine there.

The ruins make such a wonderful setting for doll photos. They look like another time and place.

I love all the cloth dolls, but my special favourite is the little knight with his helmet and sword. He looks like an earnest little boy trying his best to be all grown up.

Oh, the exquisite meticulousness of your work, Martha! I cannot imagine how long it took to embroider her stunning peacock gown! Each of your dolls are works of art! May I ask where you find leather for the belts? I can't find belts fir my FID dolls and need to make some. I'm especially thinking of those long belts used in men's historical clothing. Thanks to you and your generous patterns I am attempting to make some special outfits. I will never be as skilled as you in a hundred years, but it's fun to try! I am searching the net to find a good book on construction. I sometimes get into trouble by sewing my doll clothes in the wrong order of construction, lol ! I know it can be different than for human size.

Thanks. That peacock feather design was done on my sewing machine (by hand, not an embroidery machine) and took a while. That was the first version. I did two more for other dolls after that. I wish I had one for one of my ball-jointed dolls.

I get most of my leather out of my stash. Much of it originally came from Tandy leather company, where they had bins of scraps for cheap. It's best to be able to feel the leather in person, to check for thickness for doll costumes. I bought some at Michaels last year thinking it would be thin enough, but it was still too thick. I've not been to the Tandy Leather Company's actual store in years, but I'm running out of long enough strips for long belts, and have been putting seams in the back where it won't show.
