I've been working on some new cakes for all the upcoming doll birthdays, and ones I've missed. I was getting bored just reusing the old ones, so decided to make a bunch of new ones.... There's a cute little elephant cake for baby Sena, 'iced' with drywall compound, and waiting for the addition of a big bow and all the polymer clay flowers..... ...and polymer clay peacock 'feathers' for a fancy cake for Monica.... Plus half a dozen other cakes, some for specific birthdays, others just for the dessert table. I always enjoyed making them, even though they are very slow work. Each new layer of drywall compound takes a full day to dry, and making the details out of polymer clay takes quite a bit longer than I expected as well. So I do a bit of work every now and then throughout the day.

I love the cakes! Sena will love her baby cake with the elephant.

Thanks. I hope to finish Sena's cake today, and maybe get a bit further with the peacock. Then there's a whole bunch of new styrofoam shapes Jan just cut, which all need their first layer of 'icing'. So lots to do.
