Well, she put the photo story together in book form, and had it printed. Yesterday she surprised me with my own copy....
Just saying. So don't ask.
Some of you may remember back in January 2019 when I borrowed some of my sister's little OOAK gnome characters, and photographed them for 'A Gnome Family's Christmas'. They are small, posable, soft sculpture characters made by an artist friend of her's. Well, she put the photo story together in book form, and had it printed. Yesterday she surprised me with my own copy.... It's so cool to see my photos in print! But this by no means suggests that more doll books are around the corner. As cool as this book is, most of my doll stories, and photo books, would need to have a lot more pages, and this book was expensive enough to produce, and far beyond what the casual doll lover would be willing to pay.
Just saying. So don't ask.

My sister and I publish children's books that I write and she illustrates. We do it thru Amazon Direct Publishing and we sell thru Amazon. Not sure how it works in Canada, but it's an inexpensive way to publish. We do softcovers to keep the price down. Just a thought. Here's our latest: https://www.amazon.com/Playtime-Alaska-Amy-Murrell-Haunold/dp/1975781082/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=playtime+in+alaska+amy+murrell&qid=1616516815&sr=8-1

It's great you and your sister have a way to publish your books, but what I'm looking for is a big, hardcover, coffee-table book with glossy pages. At an affordable rate.

Perhaps you should consider contacting some agents then. If you can find one to represent you, the cost of the printing would go to the publisher.

What a lovely gift! I've seen companies that offer to make a persona like blog into a printed book which seems like a fun idea.

This is a lovely book. It's hardcover with a glossy photo cover, and nice quality paper inside with glossy, sharp photos, that look exactly like my original photos.

It’s probably just as well not to offer books based of BJD photo stories. A book for personal enjoyment, featuring homemade dolls is one thing. I don’t know the legality of selling books starring dolls others have designed. Comments are closed.
