After altering the dress and slip I took off my "Little Bo Peep", and making a new, larger hat, Hope tried on the entire ensemble - even Bo Peep's wig, which I had washed. She looks so pretty! It's such a familiar look, but with a much nicer doll. I think at some point I really need to make some outfits like this for sale. I can picture "Red Riding Hood", "Alice in Wonderland", "Bo Peep", and dare I even say it - "Anne of Green Gables". Of course, that would really be "going back to the beginning" - right back to my early cloth doll-making days. Funny how that works.

looks a little odd at first glance, being so used to the old one. It'd be interesting to put up a side by side of the two.

I'm never very comfortable posting side-by-side comparison photos. It's like such an embarrassment for the old doll, who I actually thought looked quite nice once upon a time. Like, who was I kidding? The poor thing looked like the "Phantom unmasked", and I tucked her headfirst into the garbage.

I love the entire ensemble on her. The dress really brings out the color of her eyes. To look at her, I'd say she likes this outfit, too.

I really like the outfit on her too, and want to take a few more pictures.

Thanks! Making hats is fun, and it ended up looking pretty close to the original that I made with the outfit many years ago. I was lucky I still had the exact same blue braid - just enough to go all the way around the outside edge of the hat. Comments are closed.
