I love her dress, so chose to remake the jacket.....
I've been working hard on Nami's little coat and hat, just in case the storm tomorrow brings snow. But when I tried it on her it was way too tight. I needed hemostats to pull her dress sleeves down to where they should be, and she ended up so stiff that she couldn't bend her arms at all. The little jacket would have fit over a simpler dress with plain, narrow sleeves, so the choice was to either make a new dress, or to make a new, slightly bigger jacket. I love her dress, so chose to remake the jacket..... I worked on it during all the free time yesterday, but now it looks like the storm will be all rain, so I can relax and take my time.....and wait for the next snowfall....

I liked it that short too, but I had to lengthen the new one a bit, since the armholes had to be bigger.

The jacket is very pretty. The completed costume should be lovely!

I like seeing these pictures where you've shown your materials, the "process" pictures. It's fun and interesting too see a window into how you put things together. I see by the wonderful pics of your girl and her darling bunny friends that the second jacket turned out so pretty!

Thanks. I show them because some people figure I can just 'magically' produce my doll outfits, but sometimes there's quite a struggle involved. Even after fifty years of experience, some things don't come easy. Comments are closed.
