Leaving on Road Trip

9/21/2015

Well, things seem to finally be coming together, making it possible to actually go on our planned road trip. The dolls that will be coming along are a contemporary 'family' group, and includes Leona & Owen (JIDs), Lonnie & Milo (KIDs), and Holly & Coco (BIDs)....

They are looking forward to all kinds of adventures, although I won't be able to post any pictures until after we get back home. I shoot exclusively in RAW, which means I have to process everything in PhotoShop, and we won't have access to that while we are away. In fact, I don't know if I can even make any updates here. We will be staying within Canada, and unlike in the USA where every couple of miles there's another little town that has a McDonalds with free WiFi, Canadian towns are few and far between, and only bigger cities have fast food places with WiFi.  And we avoid cities like the plague.

Yesterday was the Cambridge Doll Show, and we took the time so I could go. Unfortunately there wasn't much of interest as far as props for my dolls. I did come home with two new little Teddies. I gave them to Ringo, in an attempt to compensate for the indignity of having taken his coveralls for Coco to wear sometime on the trip. Coco's jeans look all nice and good, but they are so tight, he won't be able to do much in them - hence the need for something with a bit more comfy fit.

staying home too, and they'll keep you company"

Thanks! So good so far. It's day three and we still haven't left the province. It's 2,000 km from our house to the next province, and it's almost all through rugged wilderness, taking 2 1/2 days. Then the rocks and forests change to endless wheat fields of the Prairies.

They all look excited and ready for the holiday. I look forward to seeing all that happened on your return.
I guess that a big box/bag of props is going with them too.

Safe journey and have fun and I don't blame you about avoiding the cities.

And try not to be too down-hearted Ringo............your time will come I am sure.

Oh yes, two boxes of props, and a box of warm clothes!

Yesterday everyone had at least one photo op with something interesting. Holly wanted her picture taken at the Winnie the Pooh monument in White River. Did you know that the bear named Winnie at the London Zoo, which inspired E. Milne to write his Pooh stories, came from White River, on the north shore of Lake Superior, and that he was named 'Winnie' after the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba?

Your family looks ready for adventures.

Avoiding the big cities is a very good idea and sounds familiar to me.Just enjoy the tour, everything else can wait. :-)

Have a safe and pleasant trip and take the time to recover.

Great family and I'm really digging their wardrobe. So sad baby boy can't go. Send him here to Philly for vacation. LOL
Enjoy your trip! Blessings

That's a great family group, and they look ready for all kinds of adventures. Looks like Holly is a budding photographer, a very chic budding photographer with her matching camera :o)

I just love little Ringo! He even had his backpack ready, poor guy. At least he has a couple new teddies to comfort him.

Have a safe and wonderful trip!!!

Have been having major issues with getting a good WiFi connection, so have been unable to access Weebly and create any new Blog posts. I have been able to post a few sporadic comments on Facebook, but not here.

It's the start of week three, and after spending a week on Vancouver Island - half of it with Mikey and Tanya - we are headed back inland towards the Rockies. I've been taking lots of photos of my little doll family on vacation, so there will be lots to post after we get back home.

Keep safe and see you soon xxx

Weebly has gone and changed everything again.

OH NO!!!
Why do they keep "fixing" things that aren't broken???

LOL Oh I know! They are always messing with things, 'improving' stuff that doesn't need it. I couldn't get into Weebly, so had to go in through the 'back door'. By posting something, whenever there's any comments, Weebly sends me an email asking if I want to delete the post. So I clicked on 'yes, delete my post', and that gets me into my site. Of course, in the process I ended up accidentally creating a second website - which I didn't dare delete, just in case I accidentally ended up deleting my main one. That would be a disaster!
