Kassia's Parents

I've slowly been taking photos for the final chapter of my White Cat story. It's when we get to see Kassia's back story, and how she ended up as a cat the first time.

I needed her parents, and wanted to stay strictly with my regular MSD dolls, so chose Iris to be the Queen, Kassia's mother.  I dressed her in Naomi's gold Medieval gown and took some photos of her in the garden. I thought she was so beautiful that I just had to give a sneak peak....

Then I chose Steve to be the King. After all, he was the only MSD guy who hadn't appeared as a character in the story yet.  I took the robes off of my very old, polymer clay, Wizard figure, and put them on him over Baron's formal shirt. I thought he looked great...

But the crown was FID size, and too small, so I had to make him a new, bigger one. Then for baby Kassia, I needed a smaller, newborn size baby, so enhanced a small porcelain baby I still had. Then I had my royal family. Their story will appear in Chapter four, but I haven't even posted Chapter three yet, so it's still a long ways off.

In the meantime, I'm going to be offline for a few days, so I'll leave you with this photo of the three of them...of baby Kassia and her parents....

What a regal family. The baby looks so sweet in her gown.

Hello! I am so glad to have found your website while searching for tips on Doll Photography. I love your costumes, stories and photographs. I am especially in love with Baron and Naomi. This is the most romantic thing I have seen in a long time. Thank you so much for this. Best regards from Germany.

Hi, and thank you! I'm glad you enjoy my photos and tips.

Baron and Naomi do make a wonderful couple. She is so beautiful. At some point this summer they will have their wedding. Not sure exactly when yet. But that is by no means the end of their story. There's still plenty to come.

It is so cool the way you use your dolls like actors in a movie. They get to assume so many different roles. Iris and Steve look great as Kassia's parents.
I hadn't realized that Naomi's clothing would fit a JID. Iris is beautiful in Naomi's gown. Steve's costume looks made for him rather than borrowed from other characters. I'm looking forward to this chapter of the story. Well actually, I'm looking forward to all of the remainder of the tale!

Thanks. I have to be creative when it comes to supporting characters, and I'll use whomever is available., mixing and matching clothing for the roles.

A Fashion size doll's body is very close in size to a JID, only JIDs are a bit shorter with slightly shorter arms. Their torsos are pretty much the same. Which is why I like to have the gowns lace up. Then they are a bit adjustable. However there's nothing to be done about skirts that are a bit too long. But it is what it is.

I really like Steve in that costume combo. I've borrowed that robe before, for Owen when he was an Archbishop for Lawrence's coronation. Back when I made my Wizard's outfit, I was seriously tempted to give him my old Wizard's clothes, but didn't know what to do with the bare old art doll, so just made my Wizard a copy in different fabrics. Good thing too, or I'd not have one to borrow occasionally.

It may still be a while before I get back to the White Cat story. Chapter three has been photographed, although not all the photos have been processed. I was in the process of shooting Chapter 4 now and then, but it still needs a major scene. And then there's always new stuff popping up, like this little trip e just took.
