Introducing Yvette

My dolls from Iplehouse arrived last week, but with everything that was going on it took several days before I even unpacked them, and even then they went straight back into their boxes.

On Saturday I finally dressed Yur.  I had fallen in love with the company face on the normal version, whereas the real skin one did nothing for me. So I ordered her in normal resin with the intention of her being Bianca's younger sister. Back in December when I ordered her, Bianca and Rex were going to0 be staying in the Outlander period, and the plan was to make fancy French Rococo costumes for the three of them. Yur would be renamed Yvette.

But since then Rex became a knight, so I made two new Medieval gowns for the two expected arrivals. Since I wasn't feeling especially inspired on the weekend, and too lazy to switch the gown Bianca was wearing, Yvette ended up wearing the the magenta Medieval gown.....

I had always thought of her as a blonde, but I don't have any spare wigs her size. So I initially borrowed wigs off of my Kaye Wiggs girls....

But I didn't like that wig, or the headpiece. And her eyes seemed 'off' like a 'deer in the headlights'.  So I found a wig I liked better - it was a size larger - and I adjusted her eyes.
I liked her much better....

Then took some photos with her sister....

The two sisters were each supposed to be wearing the other's gown, so I should try and switch them to see how that looks.

Yvette is very pretty. I like her green eyes. The sisters look lovely together.

Yvette is lovely. I recently placed an order for Yur with the same resin tone and faceup, so it's nice to see how she looks in a period style. I'll be interested to see how she looks in the gold.

The gold gown was always intended for Yvette. I had my inspiration from Lucretia's wedding gown in the Borgias. Her gown was all cream and gold, and she had blonde hair., so that's what I had in my mind. Of course it all depends on if she actually likes it. Dolls can be fussy.

Anyways, I changed them this morning, but haven't taken photos yet.

Those little changes you made on Yvette certainly do make such an improvement! I've always thought that small details really add up. I think she looks quite pretty in this beautiful gown. But I look forward to seeing them switched with her sister whenever you get around to it. With all this shelter in home and no place to go, I guess there's no reason to hurry. :-)
