Introducing Raillie

10/10/2020

I'd been watching this little cutie for months on one of the doll forums, and finally gave into temptation and bought her.  She's Raillie Elf, by Kaye Wiggs, basically a modified Tillie with bigger elf ears. I've really been enjoying my small Kaye Wiggs dolls recently, and thought she'd make a great addition to my gang.

It was extra nice that the seller lived just over an hour's drive away, so we went this morning to pick her up.  Nothing like immediate gratification!

So, I glued a loose eyelash, changed her eyes to a size smaller, put on the outfit I made yesterday, and tried on some wigs from the small stash her size.  At the moment I like this one best....

She's only been here for a few hours, and has already been invited for Thanksgiving dinner....

What a cutie. She is new to me. I don't know too much about Kaye Wiggs dolls.

I love this wig. Did you make it?

I am still trying to find the perfect wig for Erzulie, who won't be shipped until mid-December (sad face). I got a wig recently that I thought would work but I tried it on another doll and it doesn't look right.

This one was a limited edition back in 2014. At that point I had stopped ordering dolls through Jpop because of the endless excuses and delays concerning due dates (which are over twice as long now).

But I gave in when the Mini size was introduced, and have a renewed interest in these little cuties. They make a great break from, and contrast to, my more realistic dolls.

No, the wig is 'Lea' by Monique. I had ordered it for one of my other KW girls, but in the end she rejected it.

Finding the right wigs can be both frustrating and expensive. Good luck with that!
