Introducing Coco and Bono

2/6/2015

My Coco and Bono are finally home. With it being so cold and humid (it snows almost every day) it took a long time before Charie could paint them. Anyway, they are home now....
Picture
Coco inherited the only 'boy' wig I have, but Bono was another story. I've spent a lot of time trying on the various spare wigs I have, but I can't decide. She looks good in many of them.

She was painted to look like Lonnie's little sister, and she does look just like Lonnie did when she first arrived, but Lonnie has yellowed considerably since then.  Anyway, I think I like the red hair - I don't have any redheads - but I prefer the style of the blonde Hannah wig.

I made her dress from a length of embroidered soft green lace, which was a gift from Charie.

And, finally, one more picture of Coco....

Welcome to Coco and Bono *waves* they both look adorable, I love the knitted sweater.
And what a lovely gift of the dress, it is so pretty.......and she really does look like Lonnie's little sister!

Huge congratulations!

I went back and edited my Blog, since it wasn't clear that I'd made the dress, and it was the lace that was the gift from Charie. In fact, last night she gave me another beautiful piece of lace, this one beige with silver gray embroidery.

I find Bono looks almost exactly like Lonnie looked when I first got her. But not right now. I can’t believe how much Lonnie has yellowed in just over two years. I don’t know how much of the colour difference is due to the new resin formula. The new stuff seems much lighter, and doesn’t have the golden undertones. Same with the Real skin. The new stuff is much more pink, and my older RS dolls look very yellow beside Ringo and Coco.

Ah! That makes sense now as I did think it looked like one of your dresses! ((^_^))

I think the first pic wig is my favorite. Its a lovely red. Coco looks amazing with that brown wig he looks just like my grandson Hayden. Are those the new eyes if so their beautiful .
Cannot wait to see the new dress.

I like the red too, but I wish I could get it in the style of the blonde one, but the Hannah wig doesn't come in reddish blonde. I don't know if 'carrot red' would be too red.

Yes, Coco has the new green glass eyes from Antina's that came today.

I would love to see all your bids together with the new ones. Their does seem to be a huge difference in color even in pics. HugsCharie

I'd been thinking, now that I have all my dolls home (except for a gray Manuna Mouse and the Racoon, which aren't supposed to arrive until some time later this summer or fall) it is time for another series of group shots. It's just such a chore to bring them all down to my studio. But, yes, just the Iplehouse dolls and other mature MSDs might be good enough, since that's the only new dolls that have arrived since the last series of 'family' shots.

Welcome home, Coco and Bono. Bono is adorable with her beautiful dress and the reddish hair. Will you rename her?

Probably, but I'm terrible at naming things, so I have to stare at her for awhile and see what she thinks. Maybe Holly, because she arrived at Christmas.

I like Holly as a choice name bcoz of the Holiday as you said Martha also it goes well with the Red hair, my fav choice also, it really brings out her sweet little freckles, Im Greek, so there are no natural redheads that Im aware of and that stands out to me, love it. Coco is so cute, love love the wonderful detailed sweater you created. It would be impossible 2 have a fav as you always outdo yourself Martha, truly.

Also I have lots of fabric from all over the world, that just sit in my huge zip lock bags, how much fabric do you usually need to make a dress, since you used it on sleeves and Dress Skirt, I would love to send you some. They are Sheer fabrics, and mostly from India / Pakistan where the weather is so hot, they have to have cool fabrics, but some are also jeweled with tiny beads, how do I take some samples and show you? I bet you would make some interesting outfits. If you are ever interested please say, I would love 2 send you since you are so generous and kind with all your Tutorials. Katee

I'm partial to the red also, but would like in the style of the blonde wig. However that style wig doesn't come in reddish blonde.

Bono's dress was made from a one yard length of very wide lace. I wanted the skirt to stay as full as possible, so used a different matching fabric for her bodice.

If you wanted to show me some fabrics, the best way to do that would be to take a photo, and include a ruler or doll for scale, and then email it to me. My email address can be found on the For Sale page.

They're both very cute. It's amazing how much Bono looks like Lonnie!
I agree that she looks great in the reddish blonde wig, and also the long wavy one. Carrot red might be more orange than you'd like. Her dress is lovely!

Coco's sweater is beautiful and the little white collar really tops it off!

Thanks! I like the reddish blonde, but wish more Monique wigs came in that colour, especially styles like Hannah, Bubbles, and Dimples. I agree that carrot red, which is a more common wig colour - which those styles do come in - might be too 'red'.
