Introducing Baron

10/21/2019

My new FID Baron arrived today!  On first glance he reminds me of a cross between Rex and Tedros, but with facial hair - which of course explains why I liked him in the first place.
Picture
I had planned on making him a wig and outfit this month, but have been unable to sew due to a sore wrist, so I had little choice but to put him into something I had on hand.  Not that there's much choice. He didn't look like a tuxedo kind of guy, so I put him in Rex's Phantom ensemble.
Picture
I borrowed Rex's wig.  It's clear that he needs the same colour wig, so I better hurry up and make him one. Like tomorrow! I can't have either one of my guys standing around bald!
Picture
He will probably end up being Rex's brother, and even though he does resemble him a lot from the front, Baron does look very different from the other angles.......

So now he needs an outfit.  I had been thinking of something inspired by Tudor and Elizabethan, but not necessarily historically accurate. More like a 'Fantasy' version.

Congratulations on Baron's arrival Martha ;). He is very handsome indeed. The HID version of Baron without face up reminds me of young Paul Newman. Did you get your FID Baron on model or muscle body? I bet by his neck size it's the model body - but thank you for confirmation. I can't wait what costumes you come up with for this handsome fellow :).

Thanks! He has the Model body. I don't really care for the Muscle body. My Lawrence has it, and it's HUGE. I find the Model body is a much better proportion. Especially when you start bulking it out even more with clothes.

Well, first thing he needs is a wig. Fortunately I have several wig caps that were made when Lawrence was blank.

He is seriously handsome! Rex's wig looks great on him, as does the phantom costume. He is going to be fun to dress and will likely look good in just about anything. He has an Errol Flynn look about him - handsome and swash buckling.

Thanks! I thought the same when I first saw him - that he was perfect as some kind of adventure hero. I'm just having a hard time nailing down the period. Part of me would like to expand on the late 18th century, so all the Fashion dolls can work together, but I can't picture Baron there.

I'm going to tackle a wig today, and hopefully that will suggest the direction he wants to go in.

Congrats on your handsome new arrival! He does look like Rex's brother, and is a fabulous addition to your crew. : )

Thanks!

I put him beside Rex, and then suddenly he didn't look as much like him, and Baron definitely looks like the younger of the two.

Congrats! I've been waiting with baited breath for someone to receive their Baron. I'm not disappointed--yours is gorgeous! Thanks to Iple's less than stellar promo photos I had taken Baron off my want list. Now he's back at the top. I'd love to see him beside Rex. Your full-face shots make them look very similar. They still can be brothers. They don't need to be identical unless they're twins.

I haven't seen any other Baron photos yet. I think mine is the first.

I wasn't all that impressed with his promo photos either. Way too sleazy, esp in that outfit they had him in, and never with a good straight on look. So I went and looked at the BIG Baron, and thought he looked great. The FID version's faceup looked very similar, except for the white hairs, so I figured he'd probably look great. And he does.

I have to make him a wig before I can show him with Rex. I put them beside each other last night, and was pleased to see that they really didn't look all that much alike after all. And after Baron gets his wig he definitely won't. It's going to be a touch darker, and longer.
