Inside the RV

Thought I would take a photo or two to show where the dolls were stored in the RV.  All the dolls had their own homemade cardboard box, labelled with their name, so they'd be easy to find. Each box had two cushions inside - a full size one under the doll, and a smaller one on top to hold them in place securely. There were seven boxes each with a doll, and two more, one for Props, and one for Clothes. During the night, and for the start of each day, they were all neatly put away into the overhead cupboards over the back bed....

At the first photo location for the day, the first doll boxes would get taken down out of the cupboards, and they'd usually stay on the bed for the rest of the day for easy access. Eventually all the boxes would be down.

The horses each also had their own box, and they were kept in the big cloth bag I made. During the day they'd be on the back bed, and at night, they'd get transported to the front passenger seat.

These shots were taken upon leaving the Trinity lighthouse, where only Rex and Bianca had come out. Cookie and David's boxes were still out after their photo shoot back on Strawberry Hill. And one of the horses had been replaced in the 'horse bag' by the picnic props....

Window shades would always be pulled down to keep the sun off the boxes

I love seeing your organization system. The boxes that Jan made are perfect. The dolls are riding in luxury with the pillows you made. I am sure that the dolls are enjoying the adventure as much as you are.

We made these boxes specifically for taking the dolls on photo shoots, since they only fit in their company boxes if they are naked.

During the year I just use one the right size regardless of the name on it, but for actual trips I always print out new names so it's easier to know who is in which box. For this trip I had to peel off layers of names before I glued on the new ones. And Jan had to make a new box for Rex, since he's too big to fit in all the JID boxes I had. But I think Bianca could use a new box too, one that's a little deeper.

Organization must be your middle name :o)
It's nice to see that the dolls have been well mannered enough to leave you and Jan a bit of room!

I don't have a middle name, so sure, why not?

But one has to be very organized in such a small space, and Jan has figured out ways to store everything over the years. But this trip we were at maximum capacity, with seven dolls, with two extra boxes for small props and clothes, and another two bigger boxes for bigger props. And there was also the loose bench and some boats stacked in the front overhead compartment, and the horses on the bed. So I guess we were a 'dollmobile'.
