In late March we had the only major snowfall of the entire winter. I had wanted to take photos of Matias in the snow, so we headed out to the Ruins Garden in the storm, before the snow would get too deep and out of scale. It's always a challenge taking photos when it's actually snowing, since the falling snow can cause streaks across the subject's face, but I was lucky and most of my photos were perfect. In fact they turned out to be some of my favourite photos of him.

Your photos of Matias are dramatic and striking in the snow. They can lend themselves to so many takes. Love them.

Thanks! I thought he looked very impressive, especially in the close-ups. It was a bit of a challenge to go out in a snow storm, but I'm so glad we made the effort since the next morning there was almost a foot of snow and in full sunshine, which would not have worked for doll photos at all. there's just something about taking photos in falling snow that looks so magical.

Thanks. I agree, he does look both handsome and rugged. I wanted him to have a totally different look from my other knights, which is why I chose the bright red with the armour.

Matias is magnificent! Looking at him in your photos, I can hardly believe he isn't real. The Ruins Garden in the snow makes a wonderful backdrop for him.

Thank you so much! I agree, in some of the photos he looks almost real. And the snowy ruins just gives the photos a magical feel.

This set is so stunning! Mathias’ red tunic and the armor are so detailed…they are incredibly realistic! Love him with his horse, snow or no snow! (But the snow looks pretty amazing!) Comments are closed.
