With the magic mushroom concentrate made, Willie and the Wizard were finally ready to create the Transformation Potion...

The science lab was always set up in the window where there was the best light...

The Wizard read the recipe...

...and handed Willie the various ingredients...

Some of which needed to be ground into fine powders...

It's wonderful!!! Their science lab is priceless...all the intriguing sizes and shapes of glassware, all the colourful potions and the purple microscope! I love it! My lab never looked that interesting and mysterious. The Transformation potion is destined to work amazingly well.

(I finally spied the third cat hiding under the lab bench,)

Thanks. It was a lot of fun to shoot that scene, and I even tried lighting one of the candles for a minute, so there would be some real flame. The liquid in the flask actually started boiling but it seemed rather dangerous - didn't want the cardboard stand to catch fire - so I only did it the one time.

It was frustrating only being able to photograph Willie working from the one side, so I removed the window wall so I could get some better face-on angles.

These two sages have surely created the right potion and all will be well soon.

Delightful and so intriguing - Love the pair's science lab setup, it looks very realistic. Both the Wizard and Willie are so expressive too.

Thank you. It was the creation of this entire Wizard's study that held up this story for almost two years, and part of that was the stress of having to come up with some kind of science lab. I had bought the OG Science Lab accessory pack two years ago, and that came with the microscope, a beaker and a rack of test tubes. I had those tiny glass test tubes with the little blue caps for decades, as that's what some tiny pills came in some thirty five years ago (I save EVERYTHING) Then a friend recently sent me those glass jars. Then I made that lab stand and second test tube rack from painted cardboard. They were the only things I actually made for the set. In the end it was the most detailed set I ever put together, and was definitely one of my favourites.

They make a great team. I love the lab and the shot through the window.

Thanks. I was getting frustrated only being able to photograph them from one side, so decided to just push the table back into the room and remove the window wall for better access.
