A 'behind the scene's' look at Hope's birthday party.... ..and going through the prop boxes to choose some food and drinks for the party (in the pink box lid in front). The chips and popcorn are real, just broken down...

Oh how I love your behind-the-scenes shots! Seeing the whole scene and then the finished photo gives a great illustration of how to crop a photo to get the effect you want.

Thanks. That's why I take the photos. The biggest tip with doll photography is to always shoot with the camera at the doll's eye level, or a little above if you want to see more of what they are doing.

I just love your "behind the scenes" pictures, too. There is so much to study and enjoy in these pictures, Martha. Did you make all the decorations and hats, too? Their dresses are so beautiful!

I'm glad you find them helpful. The banner hanging on the fireplace is from an Our Generation accessory set, but I made the little party hats. I keep them in the 'Party' box. The balloons are 'water bombs', and just the perfect size for dolls. I keep a bag of split & curled ribbons for tying balloons, so I don't have to make new ones every time.

I really love your behind the scenes photos too! They're so inspiring. Each of your photos is a feast for the eyes. I think one reason why I don't take many outdoor shots is because of that whole doll eye level thing. Put a doll on the ground, then I have to go on the ground! LOL!

Yes, I sometimes think if it wasn't for taking doll photos I wouldn't get any exercise at all. LOL Comments are closed.
