Happy New Year!!

1/1/2014

My girls had a fun party last night as the final sands of 2013 trickled away, and they
welcomed in a brand new year. They are hoping 2014 will be a good one!

Like most years recently, 2013 flew by, and I didn't get done nearly what I had wanted to. This new year looks like it will be much of the same. My plan for the near future is to finish the third, and final dress in a big commission, then take a big break to address some things for my own dolls. It's high time to make them something, and I have to stop bumping things ahead of them.

I'm going to be getting a brand new grandson in just 6 weeks, and I have some things I want (promised) to make, and that's going to take some time too. Unlike my other grandchildren, who all live just minutes away, this new one is a five-hour drive each way. Which means longer visits.

By the end of February I will have completed an entire year's worth of Special Days - with the exception of the times I was away on trips. I'm hoping now that that's almost finished, that it will free up some more time for costuming. But, I really enjoy the doll photography, so just watch me find some other new doll photo project.

Anyway, it's always nice to start something new and fresh. Here's hoping everyone has a happy and healthy 2014.  Happy New Year!!

I'm sure your girls will be pleased to have new clothes. And speaking of clothes for your dolls, you said once that you were thinking about making completely different fairy costumes. I hope you did'nt give up this project, I like so much your fantasy costumes. And also I can't wait to see Owen as a mousquetaire.
I wish you a Happy New Year, full of creativity !

Fantasy and historical-style costumes are my favourites, and I really, really, really want to make some again. It's just my tiny dolls have taken over much of my time this past year. I really want to get back to the more creative costumes, and will start with my own dolls that have been patiently waiting for so long - Asa, Soa, Owen, Narae & Narin.

And a Happy New Year to you and yours Martha!

And my goodness time does fly the older we get-doesn't it?!
Reminds me of a poem found on a clock from Chester Cathedral (UK)

"When as a child I laughed and wept time crept
When as a boy I dreamed and talked; time walked
When I became a full grown man, time ran
And later as I older grew, time flew
Soon shall I find while travelling on; time gone
Will Christ have saved my Soul by then?"

And I can't wait to see what you will create for your dolls *yippee* and
nearly a whole year of Special Day photos...wow! That is truly impressive. I love to look again and again at your doll photos.....they are truly inspirational!

Keep having fun! ((^_^))
