Going Home

Back at his apartment, Baron and Naomi were packing the last of the things they wanted to take with them back to his time....
Picture
Baron was contemplating his camera and laptop. "I do have extra batteries, but there obviously won't be any Internet connection, and once the batteries die they will become useless...."
Picture
"But if I take them, I won't have to buy them again if we come back here in the future...."
Picture
Picture
Naomi was taking her grandmother's old hand crank sewing machine, and all the sewing thread she could gather....for when she started her new dressmaker's shop....
Picture
They were both taking their favourite contemporary clothes, so they'd have them for whenever they came back, and Naomi also wanted to pack some recipe books.....
Picture
"Is there a recipe for pizza?"
Picture
'Of course..."
Picture
Then they were finally ready.....and Baron took out Miho's magic stone....
Picture
"Are you ready??"
Picture
Picture
"Yes....."
Picture
...and they were gone....

How magical! It was a very emotional stirring segment. I love how you depict the magic of the stone and the end - and they were gone. This story could be a novel or even a movie. Thats how I felt about your Christmas story. I would love to see these a full length novel and movie. The stories are that good.

Thanks! I really appreciate your comments.

The Christmas Story was based on an existing children's book, but the one with Baron and Naomi was totally original. I've never had a new doll inspire me so much before., and their story is nowhere near over, but I have to take a break and do some other things I've been wanting to for a while now.

Their story just keeps on growing! I wondered what they might be bringing back with them and figured one item would be the recipe for pizza! I'm anticipating a very interesting reunion with Miho when they arrive home in Baron's time, and am looking forward to their life together there. It's also fun to think about future trips "back to the future" for them.

I agree with Elizabeth. Your stories would make great novels and movies!

Yes, it does! I've never had a new doll inspire me like this before. , and I can promise you'll be seeing more of Naomi and Baron in the future.

I have lots of ideas, but it will take time. This last story used all kinds of existing dolls, costumes, and props, and the only things I had to make were a couple of contemporary outfits for Naomi and Baron, and those are fast and easy.

But for going back in Medieval Fantasy times I need to make a LOT of new costumes - something simpler for Naomi to wear, since that gold gown is way too elaborate for a 'working girl'. I have plans for several new costumes, after all, I'm sure the Queen (and other ladies) will want something new to wear, after wearing the same gowns for several years. The gowns they are wearing now each took an entire month to make. I need to make wedding clothes for Naomi and Baron for when they get married (which they can't do until I make them). And all the knights will want casual clothes so they don't have to always wear their chain mail. The list goes on and on, and it's going to take many months. And it will likely take longer than I think, since new ideas keep popping up.

Plus there's other projects I've wanted to do for years, and need to finally address.

Then yesterday I got the shipping notice for two little mice, and they will need outfits too. There's two chipmunks coming at some point as well. Maybe I need to do a Forest Dweller Christmas this year? Who knows? I just go with the flow. That's when I get the best results.

This was a very sweet and touching end to this chapter of the story. I will be ready to turn the page when the next chapter is written. I definitely want to take the journey with this couple.

Thank you. I really need to move onto some other projects, but I can't get these two out of my head. So they may be back sooner than I thought.
