Going Home

5/21/2023

Baron had wanted to go home from the moment he had regained consciousness after his surgery, but he also realized he was in no condition to travel. The day finally came that the Doctor declared that he had recovered enough to make the arduous journey home.
Picture
"Take it easy, son, and don't overdo. You've been through a lot, and it will still take some more time before you are fully recovered."
Picture
"I know you've been eager to go home for a while now, but it's a long way home."
Picture
"..and you can't ride as long and hard as you could before your accident."
Picture
"So it's going to take us a little longer than usual to get you home."
Picture
'Well better slow, than not at all', Baron thought.
Picture
Picture
Baron offered his hand.."I want to thank you, Doctor..."
Picture
"Thank you for everything."
Picture
"I owe you my life."
Picture
"I'm just happy I was able to help."
Picture
"Good luck, and safe travels. And do stop in if you are ever up this way again."

On a completely unrelated note, I just noticed that great painting of the watermelons and wine on the wall. I love it. Did you do it?

I’m glad they are heading home. Let’s hope the trip is uneventful.

No, my sister painted it. I had set up my doll props and took some still life photos. Then we chose two of them for her to paint in small steps using a palette knife, so it would look like my Narae was actually working on them during the course of her Artist Story back in 2018.

It’s really perfect for that setting. I’ll have to go back and look at Narae’s story.

We will all hope for a safe and uneventful journey home for Baron. Loving arms await his return.

It's interesting how the bandages and poses make Baron look more frail than Rex. He really does look as though he has been through an ordeal.

That's the idea. It's amazing what some pastels and watercolour pencil crayons can do. Then add some bandages, and he looks like he's had a really rough go of it, and hasn't shaved for a while.
