..decorating gingerbread houses in the kitchen...
This past weekend, we finally finished the gingerbread village we had started earlier this month. Our daughter-in-law, who is in our social bubble, asked if we could make one again for her birthday. So we got together three times, first to bake and glue all of them together, then twice more to decorate all of them. They ranged in size from small to TINY, so I arranged them like a little mountain village in my studio.... Part of the fun after making all these small gingerbread houses, is to see what creative ways I can use them in photos with my dolls. So today Miki and Layla had a go at it... ..decorating gingerbread houses in the kitchen... Miki was challenging herself with some very fine piping.... Whereas Layla was just having some fun....

The houses are just amazing! It is great that you got to work on the project with your daughter-in-law.

Yes, Jan made that lighthouse, plus a 'log cabin' and Town Hall with sprinkles all over the roof, then got a bit 'wild' making the two Layla is working on.

The gingerbread village is amazing! Layla (aka Jan) is a hoot with those exuberant gingerbread houses.

Wow! Look at them! So pretty! And that is indeed some very fine, intricate piping. And wonderful variety including Jan's contributions. All of them are beautiful each in their own way. Of course, love the classic ones. I've never made a gingerbread house and have always wanted to make one, from scratch not a kit. But since my children now all live far away and never make it here for Christmas anymore, I haven't been motivated enough to make one just for the two of us. Maybe someday when we can social gather again I'll have a Christmas doll party and make a gingerbread house for the occasion. Comments are closed.
