Finished

I finished Iris' gown this morning, and really wanted to take some photos of her and Steve outside, but it's like a sauna out there, so I took a few quick photos inside. So here's the finished gown with all the basting removed from the pleats, so they hang properly like they should.....

Steve loves how his wife looks in her new gown.....

...and figures he better take her out on some classy dates, so she can wear it....

Maybe he could take her to the New Year’s Eve ball? Beautiful gown, Martha! She looks absolutely stunning. I look forward to see where her handsome husband takes her on those dates.

I had to smile at the suggestion of 'New Year's Eve ball', since the plan has always been that Bianca would wear it then.

Not only was this gown made for Iris, it was also intended for 'Christine' (Bianca) to wear at the New Year's Eve Masquerade ball with Viscount Raoul (Rex). The dress is my extra-embellished variation of the very simple pink Victorian gown Christine wears in the Phantom movie.

Of course that means I now have to make Raoul's Hassar uniform, and the Phantom as the Red Death. But not yet.

Thank you. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to take some nice photos of her in it.

It's also very hot and sunny here. Too hot. But hopefully it will be a little cooler today.

The gown is lovely and she wears it well.

A celebration is definitely in order. I can envision her making a grand entrance.

Her gown is so beautiful! Iris looks lovely in pink.

The lace of her over skirt looks familiar. One of your little BIDs has a lovely party dress made of that same lace I think :o)

Thanks. You have a good eye. Both my Elin and Cinnamon have party dresses made out of that same lace. I have the lace in a darker pink as well, and that was used for my very first Victorian gown back in 2012, which I sold.
