Family Portrait

The first official family portrait of my newest Iplehouse family....
Picture
The two smaller kids were in photos with Isis last Christmas, where she was their 'Mom', so I figured they had to be part of the family.  And I needed an older KID, so chose Lisa, although I'm not yet decided what her relationship will be, whether she's his daughter, or a younger sister to one of the adults. Not that it really matters. But they are definitly a family.

Anyway, it's interesting that all five are Special Real Skin, but in three different versions.  I've had Lisa the longest, and she's still the old original RS formula with the French resin in it. So she's not nearly as 'pink' as the others. The two BIDs are both the current matte RS, and the two adults are the GLOW RS. When I first ordered isis I had thought there wasn't a lot of difference between the regular RS and the GLOW, but now that there's two of them, I can see that it really is a nicer resin than the standard matte RS.

To me Lisa seems to share more family resemblance with Isis than the others. Maybe she's from Isis's first marriage? Or a niece?
They make a great family group anyway.

I agree that Lisa looks related to Isis. I just have trouble assigning such obviously older kids to such young-looking adults. Many people consider JIDs to be just young teens themselves. But I've always wanted them to be adults. In the end it doesn't really matter what the background story is, but just that these five have become another doll family.

Wonderful shot! I would love to hear your opinions on why the Glow RS is nicer than the standard RS.

When I first ordered Isis, I got her in GLOW because I hoped she would fit in better with all my older JIDs who were all the older resin formula with the French resin. I'd ordered a regular RS doll at the same time, and quite honestly couldn't tell the different between the two, even thinking maybe Iplehouse had made a mistake.

I think the real issue for me is the two BIDs in the photo. They are both the current RS and both look very matte and dull. Almost chalky. I have several more BIDs and KIDs also in the current RS and none of them are quite as 'dead' looking as these two little ones. So, compared to those two little ones, the two adults who are both GLOW, look a lot nicer.

I should add, that I forgot that Steve was even GLOW, until I looked back at my order last week. I thought it made sense I'd gotten him in GLOW since he was going to be a partner for Isis, but his resin never struck me as being 'special' in any way. He was painted at the same time as my two regular RS FIDs, and I quiet honestly didn't notice the difference.
