I envision a poker game being played in the evening with a light hanging low over the table. So I took a 'Tiffany' style tealight shade and suspended it from the chandelier. But it didn't have a real light inside, so I asked Jan to aim a flashlight at it from above.... ....lighting up both the shade and the guys playing poker. Note that there are no background 'walls' for this scene. I just used the fireplace, a dark wooden cabinet and a grandfather clock. The open hallway in behind, and the fabric-lined, dining room, French door, fill in the background. And I had to print out the classic picture of dogs playing poker to hang above the fireplace.... ...to create a scene like this....

Your ideas how to arrange props are just genius :D. It's great to see that Jan is better now so he can join in your photo stories planning. I'm sending him my best wishes for full recovery.

I am slowly learning how much work goes on behind the scenes. It helps to have a partner like Jan sometimes. My husband is always willing to help me, too. I love the dogs playing poker touch! It's the little details that make the scenes! Great picture as always. Thank you for sharing both the finished product and the how-to.
