I'm still working on the wings for my Dark Fairies. Their wings are like dragon wings, with a different shape and colour for each of the outfit colour combinations.
To make the wings look even more like 'dragon' wings, I'm using the same techniques I did when I made Winston's wings. I stuffed the outer edges of the wings, to give them more body. That was some huge chore! I ended up having to pick open the seam at the bend in the wing, since there was no way to manoeuvre any stuffing up and around that sharp bend.
I made small claws out of Apoxie, poking holes through the bottoms so I could sew them onto the tips of the wings once they'd cured. Then I had to sculpt more Apoxie around the base of the claws in order to blend them into the wing....

Next step was to saturate the bottom edges of the fabric wings with diluted glue, to seal the two layers together, before I can do the final trimming of the edges. Then it will be time to paint them.
