I'm hoping one day to get another Mini, so am making two Mini size fairy outfits right up front, as well as two for my KID girls, since they don't have fairy costumes either....
I decided Mini Missy needed a Fairy costume so she could hang out with her tiny sisters. I had wanted to do a fairy photos shoot this summer, but had to wait for Missy to arrive before I could make her a fairy outfit. I had read on Facebook where someone said that Kaye's Mini dolls are roughly the same size as Iplehouse KIDs, and that they can share clothes. But it's a good thing I waited, because the two are really quite different. So unless one doesn't care about a loose fit, both dolls need clothes designed specially for them. I'm hoping one day to get another Mini, so am making two Mini size fairy outfits right up front, as well as two for my KID girls, since they don't have fairy costumes either.... I like to embellish the necklines with tiny cloth flowers, but my stock is running low on certain colours, and this size flower is no longer available in stores. So I had to dye some with diluted acrylic paint. The purple ones started out pink, and the blue ones started out white. Each tiny flower had to be individually stained....

I am excited to see what the fairies will be up to when you finish the costumes. Fairies are so magical!

I had wanted to do a new Fairy Grouping photo shoot before the flowers are gone for another year. I did one five years ago when I made the first fairy costumes. Problem is, I sold the kID ones. And I had wanted to make some KID and Mini fairy costumes this summer, but Mini Missy took forever to come. Tomorrow is already September, so I have to hurry it up now while there's still flowers out there.

The flower fairy costumes are so pretty and so detailed. I'm looking forward to seeing the outfits transform their owners into little fairies :o)

Thanks! All the major construction work is done (except for the wings) and now it's all embellishment by hand, which is my favourite part. I just need to choose the beads in natural daylight so I can see the colours accurately. Comments are closed.
