I had my old Elizabeth out yesterday to see if her costume would fit on a BJD, and even though it might work on a Narae, her head would look shockingly out of scale, so it's not going to happen. But then I had the idea to take some photos of Elizabeth in the castle window. She's never been photographed in a setting before. Of course I needed a more appropriate painting in the background, so printed out one of her father... This doll was made in 1982. I used an inexpensive porcelain doll kit for the doll itself. She was Abigail Adams from a set of four First Ladies. I chose her to be Elizabeth because she had red hair in an upswept style. She won first place at the CNE doll dressing competition that year.

She is stunning. I don't think I ever saw photos of the Queen up close before. The top of her cape (is that what it is called?) almost looks like wings and makes her seem like an angel.

Thanks. I've never photographed her like this before.

Her costume is magnificent! The setting befits a regal monarch like Elizabeth I.

She was made the year my daughter was born. Before that I had been making dolls to enter their competition every year. I only had two boys at that point, and I felt I needed an excuse to make dolls for myself, and a competition was as good an excuse as any. There were three or four different categories, and for several years I'd make a doll for each one.
