With all the little Fantasy costumes I've been making lately, I keep taking dolls down to the lake to look for photo settings. But it's become extremely challenging. Lake Ontario water levels are way up - about a foot above normal - so all my usual spots are underwater, and what shoreline is left is very narrow and wet. We went to a new location that worked a month ago, but the path down to the beach was washed out and now there's a metre high drop off - which I can't manage. So I had to resort to 'hand-held'...... .....and using an old concrete 'ruin'....

I need to find some cool ruins around here. Alas, we have very few close at hand.

It's very challenging to find suitable locations for Fantasy dolls, esp the smaller ones. This chunk of concrete is a step in a piece of retaining wall from a lakeside property where the land has been washed away years ago. It conveniently hides the nuclear plant behind it.

They are all turning out wonderfully. Even the settings you had are beautiful.

What wonderful photos of some of the gang down by the Lake...the hand held one is particularly good and I never would have guessed it was a hand held one had you not said!

Yes, we've had a LOT of rain the last couple of months. It was less than a month ago when we went to take the dolls with their sailboats down at the lake, and we can't even access that spot now.

These are really lovely photos. :) Hopefully the water will go down soon and you can have your old photo spots back.

I can't handle "difficult to get to". We discovered some nice places along the beach down by the Sewage Treatment plant, along the Waterfront Trail, and there's even a path with railing down to the beach, but we must have had some incredible waves with those recent storms, because the whole bottom half of the path has been completely washed away, and there's a three-foot drop off down to the beach. Which way is too much for me.

Serendipity is a wonderful thing when it results in such great photos in locations you might never have tried otherwise! Your little Fantasy adventurers are a delight!
