Doll Show Finds

9/10/2017

Today was the annual Maple Leaf Doll Show in Cambridge.  I like to arrive shortly after it opens, and am mainly on the lookout for doll props and furniture. You never know what you will find.  Sometimes I find lots of things. Other times I leave empty-handed. But today was a good day....

I hit the jackpot with all kinds of MSD size wicker furniture. I even found a second loveseat like one I already own. The table is a bit too big scale-wise for the two seats I got today, but will go with the larger wicker furniture for my Kaye Wiggs dolls. I also found a little reed basket for one of my Toads

I also scored a fancy velvet armchair. It's not the finest workmanship - rather square and clunky - but it is MSD size and will do nicely..

And what would a doll show be, if I didn't come home with yet another tea set?  I have lots of very small tea sets, more the 1/12th dollhouse scale. And a couple of larger sets great for my bigger dolls.  But this one was an in-between size, perfect for my MSDs.....

It was such an unusual shape and size, and just looked so pretty, I had to get it. After I got it home and unpacked it, all the 'ears' on everything really struck me. They look like pointed elf ears! So maybe the perfect tea set for an elven gathering.

It's all a matter of chance, and today was a good day.

Wow, you found some great things today! That tea set is really beautiful.
Are you planning any reupholstering/painting for your fancy arm chair?

No, that green velvet is just fine. I am going to make seat pads and cushions for the wicker seats though.
