Decorative Painting

Then it was time to paint all the decorative gold embellishments on my little sewing machine, using one of my very finest brushes. I knew I'd never be able to paint the name 'Singer' so I cut it from a paper printout and glued it on.

Then with all the decorative painting done, and the fly wheel attached, and several coats of satin varnish..

...and the machine threaded...

Big and small...

Not including the shaping of the wood body and base last summer, the finishing took about four days. And much of that time was spent waiting for three separate applications of Apoxie to cure. the only really labour intensive part was sanding the main body after the Apoxie cured, and then all that gold painting.
