Dandelion Fairies

When I was little we used to pretend that if we blew on the dandelions after they'd gone to seed, all the little fluffs would go flying off like tiny fairies. Well, all the carpets of yellow flowers are gone for another year, and all that's left are fields of fluff-balls everywhere.

Some of the girls went out to "send off the fairies"....

Winston came along to watch....

Well, those fairies aren't going anywhere!

LOL I'm not foolish enough to risk open flame that close to my dolls. I took photos with Winston holding just the empty dandelion head, and then after moving all the dolls out of the way, my husband held dandelions in almost the same spot, and I tried to take photos as he tried to set them on fire. They burn extremely fast, so we had to do it a lot before I got two decent pictures. Then I Photoshopped the burning dandelion heads onto Winston's stem.

We took these pictures on the high school property. I checked to see if there were any security cameras, since I figured we'd look pretty suspicious as two adults sitting in their field burning dandelions, but I didn't see any.
