With my pinched nerve I need help with photography these days, especially with bringing stuff outside. It also helps having someone hold the white card to bounce light onto the doll, since the main light source - the bright cloudy sky - is behind her.... Another thing to take note of is that these photos were taken from above. At this angle the doll clearly looks like a 'doll', and the big urn behind her looks disproportionately huge...... Now the actual photo, taken at the doll's eye level, with a short depth of field.... The closer I get to the doll, the smaller the urn in the background becomes....

Your behind-the-scenes photos are always so interesting. I'm curious about the card that Jan is holding in the first photo.

It's a sheet of foam core with some doll photos on it, from a doll show eons ago, I use the white side for bouncing light onto the dolls, and just knew someone would ask about it, so had Jan flip it for the second photo. I should have had him flip it for both.

It's good to see Jan. I am glad he is back to his "post."

I always enjoy your behind the scenes photos. I'm very happy that Jan is well enough to help. But equally as unhappy that things are getting harder for you!
