Behind the Scene

With my pinched nerve I need help with photography these days, especially with bringing stuff outside. It also helps having someone hold the white card to bounce light onto the doll, since the main light source - the bright cloudy sky - is behind her....
Picture
Another thing to take note of is that these photos were taken from above. At this angle the doll clearly looks like a 'doll', and the big urn behind her looks disproportionately huge......
Picture
Now the actual photo, taken at the doll's eye level, with a short depth of field....
Picture
The closer I get to the doll, the smaller the urn in the background becomes....

Your behind-the-scenes photos are always so interesting. I'm curious about the card that Jan is holding in the first photo.

It's a sheet of foam core with some doll photos on it, from a doll show eons ago, I use the white side for bouncing light onto the dolls, and just knew someone would ask about it, so had Jan flip it for the second photo. I should have had him flip it for both.

It's good to see Jan. I am glad he is back to his "post."

Thanks for showing these photos. I am definitely smiling!

Your garden is so pretty.

I'm definitely needing his help these days.

I find the garden looks best from the end like that, then you see all the flowers in the distance, because there really aren't that many.

Vos poupées sont vraiment sublimes - Elles sont très grandes et les tenues magnifiques - Bravo également pour vos photos et merci de partager vos techniques de prise de vue et votre travail. Merci de nous faire découvrir votre univers.

I always enjoy your behind the scenes photos. I'm very happy that Jan is well enough to help. But equally as unhappy that things are getting harder for you!

I actually was able to get my husband to act as shade for me a couple of times! Thought I don't dare push it. :-)
