Even though it was the hottest day of the year so far, the kids were hungry after they got home from their first day of school, and Owen wanted to try out the barbecue I was in the middle of making, so he grilled them some hotdogs and hamburgers....

I love it! The kids are so cute and Owen makes a great Dad. A barneque is the perfect way to celebrate the first day of school

He had wanted to have a holiday weekend barbecue, but it was ridiculously hot and humid. Saturday was the hottest day of the year, and yesterday we set a new record AGAIN!. A cold front is supposed to roll through today, so hopefully we'll get more seasonable weather, and I'll be able to take doll photos again, because with temperatures in the thirties, and Humidex in the forties, it's way too uncomfortable to do anything but one or two quick photos in the evenings,

I made the BBQ grill by making a reed circle and gluing thin skewers onto it. Sprayed it silver, and embellished with brown and black paint. The body of the BBQ is a plastic bowl. The underside is still under construction, and will need some thicker dowels for legs.
