Back to Work

With the holidays over, it was time for Baron to go back to work. It was time for the annual patrol of the outlying villages, and he didn't know exactly when he would be back. It would be the first time since they came back that Naomi would be alone in the past, and she came out in the snow to say good-bye....

Both of these have such beautiful faces & the costumes are outrageously lovely.

I cannot remember with whom she is staying until the marriage. I am guessing that she will have someone to help her adjust while Baron is away.

The good-bye is touching.

She is staying at Miho's castle. That's where Baron was living, and castles are huge and have separate housing for many people, so she and Baron can have an entire wing to themselves. But when he's away she'll at least have some company if she wants.

Their farewell is touching. The photos give a sense of many different emotions - sadness at being apart, concern in Baron for Naomi being left alone, apprehension in Naomi for when she'll see Baron safely back, and for herself in facing a strange new world alone for a time. I love the final photo.

Thanks. That's exactly the feel I was aiming for, and with the different camera angles I can almost see Baron's horse shuffling around, waiting anxiously to get on the way.

With there being way too much snow, the scene was a challenge to shoot, and for the last photo I thought I'd include the urn in the background, as it helped make it look like Baron was leaving the castle grounds, as opposed to poor Naomi standing in the snow in the middle of nowhere.
