Anyway, I just got the worst part of thirty arrows done - the gluing of the paper 'feathers' onto the shafts. It's the first step in creating a realistic-looking arrow, but it's also the step I like least. Three quivers are almost finished and just need the leather straps.....
It's been difficult to be creative with my computer room under renovations. Hopefully it will get finished this coming weekend. I've been trying to work on the bows and arrows for my fantasy folk, but it's going very slow. The bows are shaped out of wire and wrapped, but I really, really, really, don't like working with Aves Apoxie, so I haven't even started sculpting any of them yet. I also had an ear infection all week, and just as it's almost gone I'm getting the flu. Perfect! Like construction isn't enough to mess with what I want to do.

I'm not a fan of Apoxie either, could you maybe try another air-dry clay?

I find Apoxie is like trying to sculpt with chewed gum. Terrible! But it does cure very strong and is wonderful to sand and paint, so I put up with it.

Yeah.. that's what I didn't like about it too. Also it smells a bit funny when not cured. ;)

LOL Now that you mention it, it does always smell like a cross between rancid tortilla chips and dirty socks!
