Some of the most spectacular scenery of our entire trip, was on the last three days as we headed home through Northern Ontario. There had been almost no colour change when we passed through several weeks earlier, and it was wonderful luck that autumn was very late this year. So many of the forests along the 2,000 kilometres we drove in Ontario, were in peak colour. We stopped in several places along the way to take photos. Like here, north of Lake Superior.... ...and near Wawa.... Wild blueberry bushes turn bright red in autumn, and are the perfect scale for my dolls..... The maple trees were especially magnificent....mostly in yellows and orange... I love how the white bark of the birch trees stand out against the coloured foliage. Colours were especially nice just north of Sault Ste Marie...

Amazing colors. I adore the sweaters and hats you made for your dolls and the updated hoodies as well :).

Oh my ! How beautiful ! I've been showing all your trip photos to my husband and he asked if they were ALL dolls because some look like real children to him ! And what can I say about the coloured maple trees, they are so beautiful ! Thanks for sharing !

Yes, we drove 12,000 kilometers! A whole third of that in our own province of Ontario. It's 2,000 km from our house near Toronto to the Ontario/Manitoba border. And that 2,000 km (both leaving and coming back) is slow going since the Trans Canada Hwy is mostly single lane each direction, winding around lakes and mountains, and slowing down every time we get to another small town. It takes us at least 2 1/2 days. Spectacular scenery though.

I was so glad that autumn was late this year, and we got to see the colours. Last time we went to BC in the fall, all the trees were bare when we came back. Comments are closed.
