I'm slowly making progress on Asa's new dress, being made from an old Indian skirt. The bodice is done, except for the eyelets up the back, since they can't be inserted until after the skirts are sewn on. I'm pleased with how everything is coming together.... The bodice is beautifully form-fitting. I cut the front panel with one of the deep pink, diamond appliqués in the center, and had to remove all the beads in order to sew it. The edges of the front curlicues were also cut off, and had to be re-embroidered back on. All edges are beaded... The embellishments along the bottom of the skirt will need some repair before I can sew the skirt onto the bodice. I hope it isn't too much work. I'd really like to see the dress together, but tomorrow I have to go for a wisdom tooth extraction, so who knows how the rest of the week will go, and if I feel like sewing.
